Integrated Curriculum Hub

Objective

To provide a curriculum-sharing platform that showcases exemplary teaching of integrated units centered upon
religious education for use by teachers in K-12 schools.
Each unit will guide students through an interdisciplinary approach
that integrates math, science, language, social studies, life skills and religious studies.

Inspiration

This effort reflects a contemporary revival in education that historically created a renowned scholar, warrior, saint, hero
such as Emir Abdelkader who was taught subjects and skills across disciplines - from horsemanship to critical thinking
and analysis, to interpretation of scriptural text - ensuring that he became a just and capable leader for his people; and now,
a teacher for the world. The Emir is joined, for example, by Shaykh Amadou Bamba from Senegal and Ustadha Lubna
of Cordoba, allowing students to develop the appreciation and an understanding that all facets of knowledge together
allow one to lead a life of benefit to humanity. Character education is core to our ‘integrated Islamic education.’
